Classic Cool

MOST AMAZING CHOREOGRAPHED DANCING WE'VE EVER SEEN. FROM THE 1941 MOVIE HELLZAPOPPIN' FEATURING THE TIMLESS LINDY HOP DANCERS.

Saw this extra dope special on the life and times of legendary dancer, instructor and choreographer Frankie Manning. Manning is widely considered to be one of the founding fathers of Lindy Hop, an African American dance that evolved in the 1920's and 30's in New York City.
Manning's dancing career spanned over EIGHT decades and performed everywhere from Hollywood to the Moulin Rouge. He celebrated his 80th birthday by dancing with 80 women and his 85th by dancing with 85 women....way cool!
He spent his later years touring the world dancing with his son, and was planning his 95th birthday gala May 26, 2009, but never saw its fluition passing away on April 27, 2009.

R.I.P to a true Legend!

  2. I would love to see some people break out some classic swing dancing to some hip hop at the club one day. I might have to just go get some lessons myself.
